Workin on baets???

ok i finall got my dr-660 to record into my laptop...now i need to know how do i get my FM7 to record where i want it to record over the beats...im using cool edit pro 2.0 and n-track 3.1..i have other music apps on cd...but these are what i use right now.....heeeeelllp :-)
