Best Electronica Recording Software Rig???

Hi All. Need your advice.

I'm just getting into hard drive recording and need some advice on the Software / Hardware that I will need. I will most likely purchase pro tools as the Digital Auido Workstation. I would like to incorporate some techno/electronica/etc into my music. What software do the pro electronica producers use? Anything really good for composing beats/elctronic rhythms/etc? What would you reccomend as far as hardware/software setup? All any advice would rock! Bryan
