LiquidBronze is on a distinguished road
hasnt any one heard of...

its kinda odd around here
i may be wrong but alot of people here dont seem to really listen
to more "underground" mc's
(if one was to put a label on it or whatever)
alot of people say they like tupac, big, nelly whomever
dont get me wrong tupac and BIG really set an amazing foundation but...
havent yall heard of cats\ like
aseop rock, eyedea, sage francis, promoe (of loop troop crew form sweden), fonky family from france, shurikn from france,
LMNO, jedi mind tricks, slug/atmosphrere, company flow, EL-P
and many many more
im just wondering if people even know about these artists??
if they do then ignore this message
but if you dont and your into hip-hop
these people you should definently check out
they are making a new foundation for this scene

peace all

Liquid, of the list you mentioned I've only even heard of Company Flow. I had an dub of an album of theirs a while back. They have some tight flows, legit topic matter and nice beats. Can't recall any specific songs of theirs.

What about cats like Twista or Nine? These are talented cats as well that most people probably don't know about.

Twista for a while held the Guiness Record for fastest rapper. I guess since then someone has beaten his time, but this man can flow faster than anybody I've ever heard. You can find Twista on Puffy's first album, the cut is called "Is This The End?". He was also on Do or Die's "Po Pimp". You got know that cut. He has his own album too called Adrenaline Rush, it's tight.

Nine had a couple real raw cuts. Although I love Nas, he broke the man down on "Lying King", that's a must hear. That track is on Cloud 9. He also had some pretty crasy shit on his first album Nine Livez.

liquid: Are you french? Why do you know Fonky Family and IAM (Shurik'n, Akhenaton, Freeman)? If you want to listen to other great french MC's, you should look for "Psy4 de la rime".

As for the english MCs you mentionned, yes I heard them, yes they're good MC's but they will never make me feel like when I listen to a Tupac song. Tupac's productions were not that hot but this guy was able to make people feel what he was feeling.

Often, it's a matter of taste. I feel Tupac but I don't feel Biggie... I can't tell you why, it's just how it is.

Peace,
Beathoven

LBronze...

no doubt you rattled off some phat cats (and of course there are heaps more). I figured, too, that since there haven't been any threads to discuss much of "what's in your 8-track" or whatever, there hasn't been much to say. It seems nelly & co. names come up whenever people talk about selling records. Quite frankly, a more modest amount sold as an underground mc is way doper, and arguably the same amount of cash in the rapper's pocket....

eyedea is a'ight, but his dj is legit, no doubt...
