1 It's the cheapest of the really good recording/editing softwares.

2 Syntrillium have just about the best support, including a very, very good bbs, that I've had the pleasure to lean on.

3 2.0 is more powerful than 1.2.

Theyre based in your home state.

If you ever run into trouble running CEP you can go down to syntrillium and threaten them or something.

Uh, yeah. Uuuunnhuh. It def has the ummm ...? depth, yeah d-depth. Its deep. It goes deeper. Its biggrrr, faster, and goes far deeper. deptth. For sure. Depth is what its got....

I checked this afternoon. I opened it up and went into edit view and there it was...depth, staring at me with love and this engaging look saying "connect with me, deeply." Then I switched back to multitrack view and threw on some RTFX, some waves comps, some ultrafunk comps, some Q10s, some CEP verbs and stirred it all a bit, reworked some wet/dry envelopes, spread the panning a bit farther out and let it boil. Then, an intense spirit welled up from depths of CEP and said "you've achieved depth. You have achieved depth once again with this holy software." Then the spirit proceeded to show me the next door, one deeper than I had just gotten to. The spirit eyed me thoughtfully and said "It will take you another 50 hours at the very least but beyond the next door lies another with delights too holy and deep to utter in this profane place." Then the spirit evaporated. I have another 43 hours to go but already I can make out the vague outlinings of the door.

There are too many factors involved in accurately comparing logic, cubase and CEP. Logic and cubase are sequencers with extensive mixing and editing capacity while CEP is a multitracker with mixing and editing capacity. I grew up on CEP and personally like the chorus, reverbs, flangers, phase, dynamic EQ, dynamic delay, etc I think they are heads above most out there including waves. CEP fails in the comp depmnt for the most part given whats available now, its EQs are average (the FFT filter is very good though). Its noise reduction is very good and actually one of the big draws for alot of people.
Cubase and logic are good but function differently. Bet the two I would go with cubase as Im a big steinberg fan and use wavelab alot.

What is your position in music?

It really depends on what you want to do with the recording software, what is your financial situation, and what are you looking to get out of any program that you use?
