Soundboy, last year I was working with a songwriter who was a TAXI member. Her and I worked on several projects and she was always submitting them for various TAXI listings. We did actually get a placement with an artist named, Byron. You may remember him as the little kid Ritchie from Family Matters.

She showed the listings she gets and it's pretty incredible. It's like classifieds for the music industry. You get listings like songs wanted for artists, songs wanted for movies, beats wanted for artists and so on. I'm not sure if they have listings for movie scoring though. That's a pretty difficult position. Not only are you producing background/mood music, but you're also looking at doing some pretty sick sound design and dealing with story boarding and what not. From what I've read it's a pretty daunting task.

From what I saw TAXI is most definitely legit. I'm not sure if it can help with music scoring, but definitely with getting your music into movie soundtracks. You may also want to look at what college soffer good film programs. You have to know that budding film directors and producers doing projects for class need music done for their films. You never know, you could hook up with the next George Lucas.

Good luck with what you're trying to do and keep us posted here with your progress. It's always good to see people with high ambitions.
