Plug ins installation

I'm using Cool Edit Pro 2, and have recently installed the
"ReValver" guitar amp simulator that is direct x based, thinking
I could use it through CEP. But looking in the effects, it's not
listed under direct x, or any other catagory. I thought it might
just be a glitch, but today I installed a host of timeworks
plug-ins, and none of them are showing up either. I looked
in the settings option, and didn't see a place to specify a
plug in directory, ala Photoshop. Would someone please be
kind enough to tell my what I'm doing wrong?
