MIDI background flutter

When I record a MIDI track, then solo that track and crank the monitor volume, I hear a definite background flutter. I decrease the velocity but this low-grade flutter persists.

This problem only seems to occur when I record MIDI wind instruments.

Can anyone explain what is happening?

Thanks in advance.

Thumbs up re:

it might be the problem with the patch your midi is using to play.

if your patch uses samples which already have the low grade flutter in them it will give you flutter.

just my 2 cents.

I seem to recall that the WX5 is super sensitive to one of the mouth-controlled settings in one default mode - I don't own one yet, but was doing some research on it about 8 months ago and came across something.

What controller are you using? Have you tried defeating whatever modulation control it has, etc? Just some more possibles... Steve
