Problem with poping in audio

I noticed when i get to using alot of tracks everything starts poping as if my stuff is peeking but its not. What is the problem?

You are probably starting to tax the resources of your system.

When this happens, you can try raising your latency setting to see if that helps.

Another approach might be to mixdown some of the tracks to a single track, and archive the original tracks.

Also, if you don't already have a separate dedicated hard drive for your audio, that could help as well.

Hey Jamal, What is your computer system. I'm running a P3 800 with 512 ram. I've had 20 or more audio tracks running with no problem. But once you start adding real time affects it really starts working the cpu out. What does it say in the bottom right hand corner for resources? Are you using Sonar?
