Phantom Power +48V
I have a Spirit Folio F1 mixing desk, a mic that needs phantom phantom power, and a couple of SM58's. The mixing desk only allows me to set all mic inputs to +48V.
Will I damage the SM58's if I plug them in aswell?

If the mics are stock and the cables are good, it won't hurt them at all.

Thanks a bunch! I was a little bit worried that my 58's should get damaged, but if they don't, that's super!

it is a good idea though to turn off the phantom power before unplugging cables.

Any professional balanced microphone shouldn't be harmed by phantom power if everything (preamp/board, cables, mic) are in good working order. An unbalanced mic on the other hand (like a vintage ribbon mic) would most likely be fried. The idea behind phantom power is that, theoretically, a balanced mic won't even 'see' the voltage unless it is wired to do so...that's where the 'phantom' name comes from I believe.
