Angry Help the Rookie

This is something that has never happened to me before but it is quite upsetting. I recorded something from the Fruity Loops demo by just hitting play on fruity loops and record on cakewalk.
That worked just fine but now I am having problems.

When I try to record on a second track I'ts not just redcording the guitar but the guitar AND track one (Fruity loops). So track 2 is a combination of track one and what I recorded...Frusterating.

Hopefully this is just a simple problem.

Thanks.

If armed means recording...no.

If I arm track two, hit record and do nothing it just copies track one. So track one and two are the same thing.

Cool

... here you go, you must have been setting the kernel mixer recording property to "What you hear". Go to the speaker icon near the Windows clock, set the recording property to Line In when you record your guitar through line input... What card anyway ?
