Jeez, Saving effects in Sonar

Hey Guys, I'm Using Sonar 1.31, I'm in the control panel and adding a effect (FX EQ). I get it where I think I want it, so I play the song. Then I decide I don't quite like it so I want to go back and change it a little. It seems as though everything is back to zero. Why when I view the effects on a track I can't see where I had the effect set originally? Am I missing a setting somewhere?

AFAIK the settings should be the same as when you last set them. The only time you will lose them is if you make changes and don't save the project when you exit.

Does it do it with all your FX, or just eq?

The only complaint I have is that if I use a "preset" setting, the name of the preset disappears when I reopen the effect (however, the settings still remain correct). I wish Cakewalk would find a way to retain the preset name in the drop down box.

I think this is a Windows issue. I've tried several apps, and everyone is doing this. Mabey it's implemented in the Direct X standard?

O.K. I see what's going on. Your right about that. I guess I was thinking I was losing it because , like you said the preset name is not there. I still have the setting though. I've been bringing up the setting again and if I do any mod. on it I resave the setting.

Well, that's just plain dumb. Why isn't there a work around for this?

Yeah, I know and I've been looking for a workaround for quite some time, but with no luck...
