4040 or MXL V67 + SP B-1

Hello guys, I need some help here.
I record mostly heavy rock music, my main preamps are a VC6 and the preamps on my Tascam 2524.
What do you guys think?
Should I spend $300 and get the 4040 or spend the same amount of money and get a V67 and a B-1?
My main condensers now are a pair of AT 2535 (or 3525?), that I use for overheads and vocals and everything else I feel to...
