Archiving HUGE files
I've got a huge (~900MB) .cwb file on my hard drive that I wanna archive on CD. It's one song, but I've got about 5 separate dum takes I don't want to part with yet. Obviously, the file is larger than a single CD and a DVD burner just is not in my immediate future
![]() I'm thinking of loading WinRar which should allow me to span the file on more than one disk. Is there burner software that will do this? Any suggestions/success stories would be helpful. Chuck

What I do is to make two folders, put half of the waves and the project info in one (obviously up to the capacity of a single CD-R) and the rest in the other folder. Folder one with one half of the project, the balance on the other. I've done it this way using up to three CD-Rs. To get it back into the computer, I make a new folder and drag the info off of the CD-Rs back into the new folder in the computer. It works every time for me.

Track Rat: Good idea. I imagine this would be a no-brainer with Sonar 2's new file folder system, eh? I'm really trying to hold off the upgrade.
Flash: Worth a try. Like I said, I know you can get Winrar to do kind of the opposite of Winzip and cut the file in pieces of specified length. Thanks for the input.

Chuck - Take a look at Backup to CD-RW on this page. It looks like it'll do what you want to do. It's listed as shareware, so you should be able to check it out first. Unfortunately, I have no direct experience with it.
