3/4 Drum Beats
OK -
I have written a bunch of songs that I presumed were in 4/4, with a triplet feel. However, when I actually look where the chord changes fall, it is more like a true 3/4 or 6/4 meter. My problem is this - I am a guitarist who sings and plays piano badly. Drums are NOT a native beast for me, so I normally use Session Drummer to drop and edit MIDI loops. Now, the only 3/4 drums beats I can find are shitty little waltzes which sound like crap with the rest of the instrumentation - 2 x guitar, bass, 2 x vox with the occassional synth part. So my questions - 1. Is there an easy way with CAL or something to convert a 4/4 drum part to a 3/4 meter? 2. What rules should I be looking to stick to if I am trying to program a 3/4 drum pattern? (Do I _have_ to use Kick-Snare-Snare?) Thanks, Q. [Cross-posted to Drum and Percussion section]
