Question Anybody play a Pacifica guitar made by Yamaha??

Do any of you folks play one of these guys?? I have one shaped like a Tele with the same type of PU configuration and a great cherry sunburst finish. Its a great guitar. I just added some Seymour Duncans and it plays great...how about you??

Loved it!

I had a Pacifica and I loved it. It was my trade in on my Yamaha Compass. My entire band is Yamaha based. What an incredible company!!

Leeking will become famous soon enough
Thumbs up

Yamaha guitars are of quality without paying too much for the brand name.

I have a Pacifica 112, would hope to have a higher end one when I am rich enough!

I like that new 812 with the piezo. Very cool guitar. I wish they gave neck dimensions on their site though.

I want to know how it compares to a Ibanez Wizard neck.

I like them. Nice guitars.

I'm not sure if he still does, but Michael Lee Firkins use to endorse the Pacificas.

My first two guitars were Yamahas. I forget what they were though. The first one was like an SG3000 or something, the other was some funky rock guitar that came with a plastic pin-stripe that you stuck on the headstock with some double-sided tape. I think it was the RGX312 or something like that. The Pacificas are much better than the Yamahas I use to own.

Cool

Yes, the Pacifica's do rock....$ for $ i cant think of any dollar that can compare......

Put a $149 Pacifica 112 against a $149 Fender Squier and youd laugh at the Fender......

I play a Yamaha EG112... I think it's the same thing as the Pacifica 112, but it came out before the "Pacifica" name was used. I love it. It has been my first guitar though, so I don't really have much to compare it too. But it makes a great learner guitar! In about a month, I'm going to upgrade to a Fender Standard Fat Strat. But my Yamaha has given me a good two years of learning how to play.

There seems to be a little variation in quality in the Yamahas because construction is contracted out all over the place. A lot of the stuff is Taiwanese, but still OK.

The Pacifica 112 was showing up in some matte finishes for $129 a while back, and that has to be a solid steal. I nearly bought one just because it was a bargain, but passed. The better Pacificas also showed up not long ago on blowout online.

I was tempted, but on principle I never buy knockoffs, no matter if they are cheaper or more expensive than the original. Stratocasters, Telecasters, Precisions and soforth that make it to my studio have "Fender" on them.

If this isn't a problem for you, though, the Yamahas are very nice. The guitarist on SNL is using a Yamaha "Tele" if you look closely.
