Marshall AVT50

Anybody using a Marshall AVT50 Head? It's one of their newer cheap hybrid amps with tube pre and solid state 50w power amp. There is a decent deal on the head and half stack at a local pawn shop and I was curious if anybody had any input on them.

There is also an old Alamo 1-10 tube combo with vibrato, anybody familliar with those?

Well screw you guys I bought the marshall. Damn that thing rocks. I was surprised how good the clean channel is, pretty smooth.

I posted a couple of months ago about the AVT. Actually it was the AVT100, but I was very impressed by it with a Les Paul.

I still believe in all tube designs for myself. It's a sound I know and am attached to. If I was a gigging musician I would definitely look into the AVT's. Tube amps are a pain in the ass to keep working properly if you push them hard night after night.

Im tryin to sell or deal mine I think. Its not that I dont like it, I just never really use it. Coulda sold u one cheaper, too bad I didnt catch ya before you made your purchase. You like it though? I didnt have enough time to play around with it before my cab was taken back...long story...well not really...just...i dunno....blah.

So far I love it. It's great for basic rock stuff. I tried running the POD inline and through the FX loop and it sounded like crap. The POD just sucks the life out of the tone. But the amp and cab alone I'm really digging,

I love the clean tones from the ATV's, but everything else sucks ass. For the money they are good I guess, but if your into good tone (distortion wise anyways) they suck hard. I would only get it for the clean. Just my opinion though. I rate it 3 out of 10, only receiving point on it's clean side.

Gregwor- I love the clean sounds on it. The tube drive adds a nice amount of dirt to it. I don't mind the distortion since I like a more vintage grainy sound. But for a more modern rock distortion I definately need to get some good pedals.
