Bouncing Drum Tracks

I was thinking about getting a Tascam 788 digital recorder. Would this work=
track 1 - SD
track 2 - BD
track 3 +4 - overheads, L and R

all this bounced in stereo to stereo track 7/8 on the tascam. Would this work and would it sound just as good as when they were three seperate tracks? Thanks a bunch.

Bouncing may digitally not give any loss of sound quality, it gives you less abilities to add some extra EQ or compression afterwards, and is little versatile off course.

Just one question about your setup: don't you use your toms? If you really want to use them, you need to mike them... The signal that goes into the overheads aren't likely going to give you the punch you want in your toms.

bouncing is a necessary evil.....it can work though.....if you have the capability, id suggest backing up the 4 original drum tracks in case the bounced mix doesnt work well with the song.....

a 4 mic setup(or less) is very common in home recording, and if done correctly, WILL pick up the toms just fine.......
