matt9383 is on a distinguished road
New to this...

Just started songwriting and this is one of the songs. What do you think...

It’s funny how truth can sometimes be
An unpleasant perception or misconception
I’ve found it’s only fair
To live my life the best I can

Tonight I’ll sing
Of a self-created dream
A utopian scene
My own take on reality

“It’s alright to have your goals
But this is impossible” they’ll tell you
I’m sorry but I’m not giving up…
That easy

I’ve stuck to my plan
It’s gotten me this far
The road’s long, I’m sure
As long as I know where I’m going… I’ll be fine

And on being cliché
Is there really any other way?
It seems the past has sealed my fate
Cause all I can do is imitate

What are we to do?
When all the notes have been taken
I thought I’d once found something new
But I was mistaken.

This is my own take on reality
A new reality…

Hi Matt.
Welcome to the HR.com bbs.

Your lyrics are pretty good. I like your take, the story and what you say.
As it stands, I don't know if I'd change anything.
I'd really have to hear it to see how the lyrics meld with the music.

When you can, post a rough recording on it. Don't worry about levels, panning and such. Just vocals and some back up instrument. Reading lyrics is one thing, but hearing them use with a melody is something else.

Good job as I see it.
