muffled recordings

i need help sorting out a problem in cool edit everytime i record from an analogue source in any given track when i play it back it sounds muffled with absolutely no treble can anyone help?

I had problems similar to this when i started screwing around with the EQ feature. I don't know what it was.

Also, try saving your waves as 'Windows PCM' files. I know other formats added white noise and other wierd alterations. Hope these help.
