carver pm125

Has anybody used this amp? I'm planning on using it out of Pod
Pro to drive a 1X12 Marshall cab with an 8 ohm Celestion vintage 30 in bridged mono for studio, not live work. Available used for $180 in good condition. Does that sound like a good price?- Richie

Well if no one else has a clue, I'll tell you all, 'cause I bought it. The PM series was made for live sound reinforcement, not driving reference monitors. It does 125 watts bridged into 8 ohms or 50 watts into 8 ohms in dual channel mono, or 65 watts per channel into 4 ohms, all at 0.1% thd, Convection cooled, no fans. It's perfect for what I need it for, which is driving a 1X12 Marshall cab out of POD Pro. I had a Carvin F300, but the fans were brutal in my little project studio. I don't know that it's clean enough for reference monitors, but if you're looking for a small power amp to drive a cab, it's just fine.-Richie
