HHB Classic 80 and Alternative to VMP-2?

I too am dissappointed that peavey is planning on discontinuing the Peavey VMP-2. I would like to know what the general feeling is toward the HHB Classic 80 is, and if it would be a good alternative to the peavey, if I can't get a hold of one.

Maybe someone else can verify this, but I think I heard that they are not discontinuing the VMP-2 - they are halting production until such time as they get rid of stock and thus need to make more.

Sorry.... just read another post somewhere else on the homerec bbs, and according to someone in Florida who talked to a Peavey rep at the NAMM show, the VMP-2 is being discontinued as soon as they sell off their remaining stock. Curiously, though, a search through the Peavey website under their processors category under products, they are listing the TMP-1, but not the VMP-2. Depending on your needs, the TMP-1 might be worth checking out.

FWIW it was me that talked to Peavey, one of their senior VPs is a friend. The 2 dozen they have left is about a year's supply if past history is any indicator. Start saving up those nickles...

Save and get the best you can afford

I have wondered about this also. thougt about the VMP-2 as well, but, in the end, I have decided the Universal Audio 2-610 is a better choice. However, if they are discontinuing the Peavey VMP-2, you might want to consider buying one before its too late. It might retain its value becuase it wilil become more rare.

Don`t think about tha HHB(TLAUDIO) box!

It`s not very a good sounding unit, save up and buy something you want to keep for ever!
