Price range for monitors

Hey--
I need some help figuring out a price range for monitors for a low budget home studio recording engineer. I already have a Peavey PV500 power amp that delivers:
250 Watts RMS per channel @ 2 ohms
210 Watts RMS per channel @ 4 ohms
130 Watts per channel @ 8 ohms
500 Watts @ 8 ohms bridged

Any suggestion on how much I should be spending or on any specific good models? Thanks for your help!

I've got a pair of monitor ones that I used for years with a similar setup. They arent;' the best out there, but for the money, and sicne you already have an amp, they'd be a good step. I can sell you mine too Seriously, I will. But if not, check in the 300$ range or less, maybe Event products also.
