Man you just gotta' be jokin' includin' those Behringer Mixers in your poll !! Do a search on "Behringer Mixer" and find out!
Check out the Allen and Heath, Soundtracs, Mackie, Alesis or even a cheap-ass Nady b-4 you even THINK about considering a Behringer(s#ck-@ss)Mixer!! |

have you ever even worked on a behringer mixer???
i have worked on the mx9000 before... its a great mixer and at 1399 its hard to beat... the pres sounded clean, the board had no hiss at all and actually it sounded better than sr244 vlp pro mackie. ppl always down behringer, but they never try them...they're just as clean as mackie and everyone else out there.... at one time out here, when i asked about phonic's large mixer ppl said they're were cheap but never worked on one... i know 3 ppl that dropped mackie consoles for the big phonic ones and they have a better quality... i'm about to buy some new stuff i'm just trying to find the best product at a good price.... |

http://www.oakwoodbroadcast.com/Cons...er_mx9000.html some reading for you.. i called around and talked to a few well known engineers in atlanta..everyone said its a great mixer to have in a project or semi pro studio. no one can say anything bad about the mx9000 other than the 400watts psu is kinda noisy.... i'm gonna try and find the best price and i might get one... |

NEW!! Home-boy those are the worst mixers ever made especially the 9000!! As per famed Jazz git'ist Earl Klugh's FOH-man stated to my wife,I and several others, "He would never reccommend the 9000 to a any-1" At 1 particular concert we attended he stated that he was forced to use that crappy board as his SSL was being serviced or sumthin llike that and the only other board he could get his hands on at the time was depressingly the 9000 shit-board!! Trust me on this, BEHRINGER MIXERS ARE THE WORST BOARDS EVER MADE!! Signed A former and NEVER AGAIN owner of a Behringer Mixer!! (and please, don't make me laff about those so-called pre's!!!) |

What the (*&$&
What was that, he couldn't what...Use his SSL and the only other board available was a Behringer. This must be a joke, right? I mean, how the *&^% could someone int hat position be only able to find a Behringer. That story, my friend, needs some explanation or it will be taken with a HUGE grain of salt.
As for Behringer mixers, I am willing to bet that they can do a world of good for someone on a budget if used properly within their limits. A Mackie cannot sound like an SSL and so forth and so on. It is purely a question of expectaions. If you are on a budget, then exactly how is a Berhinger so much worse than any other budget mixer? Certainly, there may be some difference but anyone expecting a Behringer to be an SSl or even a Soundcraft for that matter is missing the point. If you were a race car driver, would you consider racing a Huyndai against a Ferrari? I don't thing so. Does that make the Huyndai the worst car ever made. Probably not but even so, I'll bet it beats walking. So, to state it plain and simple, IT ALL DEPENDS. What is your criteria, what is your measuring stick, what is your problem... |

Behringer fits the needs of my home studio, I have a 802A and it's a little work horse, I can't comment on the bigger boards but if the are made with the same attention to quality as my 802 is then they can't be all that bad.

I have a mx 3242 and it sounds great. And for the $700 I paid for it it coundn't be beat. One thing that the 3242 and the 9000 have that the other mixers don't have in its class " direct outs!" But let others negative advise make your decision for you. I didn't and I'm glad I didn't.

I just looked up the 9000. $1400 for a Behringer!!! dude that is crazy. You will never get any of that back if you want to sell it. Get a M12 for $700. If you need something bigger get one of the bigger Mackie's. At that price buying Behringer is a big risk and I dont care if I piss people off with that statement. That's too much money to throw away. |

I was sentenced to 40 years hard labor thru marriage! I basically worked at var stoo-de-o's as a session man (I'm a musician 1st ,a "RECORDIST" 2nd). Started at the old and now defunct STUY Records and did projects at, Enjoy, Big Boy, Apple and a buncha others i can't think of rite now. Thru contacts and friends, had the opportunities to work on a few things at Hit Factory ,Sony (106 & Park just moved it's project to Sony's masive studio @ 57th st ) and The Hill. Now, I simply do my own sh#t in my lil home base-ment stoo-dee-o! Peace Mr.Q |

You get what you pay for usually. Doesn't it seem strange that they can offer so much more for so much less? And to everyone who does own a Behringer mixer, when it needs fixed why don't you call Mr.Q and ask him about his. He'll be more than happy to remind you.
I don't think Behringer's all suck, and for the money they are perfect for lots of people. I have one on the way, but if I had $1400 for a main console, that will never be a first choice. Like Q said, do a search on Behringer mixer and read the user reviews. These guys aren't all haters, a lot of them have been down that road and are wiser now. I just hope that when one of the channels drops out in the gain department and you need it fixed and don't have a back up, you don't mind waiting six months and learning German. Pete |

You asked the wrong question by using the b word in this bbs. As you can see by the responce. It still amazes me that if Behringer boadrs were that bad, why are they still in business and doing so well. I own an mx3242x and got rid of my mackie 1604 pro. I have had NO problems for over a year of hard work on it (daily). Everything on the board works like it did the day I got it. But there is Mr. Q who had a bad one (like none of the other companies make bad ones) who seems to know everything about everything. I have read his posts for some time now. Of course you don't want to disagree with him or he'll let you know just how stupid you are. Bottom line, if you want to buy a behringer or any other brand, there is alway going to be someone here telling you why you shouldn't. Get what you want and learn for yourself if the stuff is good or not and does what you need or not. Peace |

They're doing well because:
A: they steal designs from everyone else in the industry. and B:it seems most people don't wanna pay more than $200 for a mic or a pre. THAT doesn't make their gear good. It just makes it affordable. Those are two very different issues. I wouldn't sink $1400 into anything made by Berhinger. Keep saving until you can get a Soundcraft or Mackie. Those pieces are very good quality and will have resale value down the road. I don't think too many people will agree that you will have both of those "features" with Berhinger gear. |

I know what you mean Q, but TexRoadkill is right that I'd be able to afford better equipment. I dunno what I plan on doing yet, but I'd definitely like to intern. I'll stay in touch. Thanks Q.

Your right, I'm wrong. That's why I've been on this bbs for over a year and still haven't posted over 100 yet. I think I'll just keep reading posts on things I want to know about and just not reply to any. Yeah, I think that will work. I'm outta here. Peace |
