I have heard rave reviews of the new Mackie PRO mixers. I own a two year old mackie 1402 that came out before Mackie released the PRO series. Does anyone know if the changes Mackie made in the pre-amps or elsewhere are really that significant? I am comtemplating upgrading....
Thanks Doug |

If you already have a decent board (which you do), it's not worth it at all!
Do a search regarding for Mackie. I've posted varies comments regarding this in the past; PRO vs. original. |

I use to have a Mackie 1604 pre pro version, around 94 I guess. I bought the 1402 VLZ pro last year and to be honest, I really can't notice any difference. I am on a different format than before (Digital), before being analog 8-track. I think you would be best sticking with what you got until you need.. more XLR inputs, more functions etc. - which is I find myself needing these days.
