I need to buy a cassette deck for mixing down AND duplicating cassettes. Which brand is best? What sort of price range am I looking at? Thanks,

Denon, Marantz, Sony, and Tascam are some nice brands. I use the Denon DN-770RM (about $500US) and love it. Check-out the Denon site at www.del.denon.com/catalog

Cool

Can you dig it Dugger?

I use the Sony ES model twin deck cassette deck in my studio; it does a great job and has "easy to use features."

I had a Tascam twin deck before and it made more clicks and pops and clutter noises than I've ever experienced. Guess I got a unit that wasn't grounded. Well, I grounded it and it sits in my basement waiting for a newphew.

The Sony ES models run right around the Denon prices. Make sure you get the ES model which is superior to all other Sony decks.

Enjoy,

Green Hornet
