The Lexus mics are smoother than the Yugo mics when recording on washboard roads. The Yugo mics get more output per phantom volt.

All I know is my delorean tube mic was discontinued as soon as it came out, and I sold it to some dude named "doc" who made a time machine out of it.

Did those delorean's really come with a pound of coke in every mic or is that just an urban legend?

That must have been handy on those late-night sessions..........

That's an urban legend; it was less than an ounce.

Harvey, you needed to check the colored dot on the box. My Delorean mic came with the RED dot, and I got almost a pound in mine....I think they used the dots to measure output...

I like my Jeep mic, particularly. Its excellent for remote recordings. Its even got a special rack for the shotgun mic, too.

To the tune of 'Jamaica Farewell':

We did some coke with John Z. those abscam buddies and me, with DeLorean we did roam
Whiffing all night , with the FBI, I feel so busted, I wanna go home

(Ch) So line out old John Z's stash, how man rich can you catch
Call for the captain ashore, arrest them at home
I want to use the phone, my lawyers not around, I feel so busted I wanna go home

The banker he got the dough, trade straight across for the blow
Constable had to come and take us away
They took it to John Z , and I’m his pilot you see, I feel so busted, I want to go home

Well John Z he not so smart, all he want to do is sell cars
He said "I give you such a deal, on stainless steel"
I wanna go home, please let me use the phone, this is the worst bust I've ever been on

BEWARE THE FORD PINTO MIC!

If you get too close to the back of this mic the proximity effect will blow this mic out of your collection.

Actually as long as there is nothing of value in the near vicinity you will probably be better off blowing it up anyway.

I had a Harley dynamic for recording kick, but the low rumble was horrible. I'd really like to get my hands on one of those old Austin Healey's. They're great on acoustic guitar tracks.

My old VW mic was kind cool....the diaphram was in the back, it blew up every year or so, but anyone could fix it for about $200.

I had a Pacer mic once-I never used it, because I couldn't stand to look at it...

For a robust baby, try the SM57/ Humvee special mic. Even Roger Daltrey couldn't break it.-Richie

It wasn't me with the VW mic. I had one though back in high school. The headlights were in a XY configuration and everytime I turned right the horn would honk.
