Unhappy Tempo in Wave Files Inconsistent

I have most of a demo CD completed which was done in Cubasis (3.7 I believe...yeah the cheap version, not Cubase). Anyway, it sounds great. However, there aren't a lot of options for mixing and mastering, so I decided to try Cool Edit 2.0.

After spending about 4 hours trying to figure out how to sync the wave files, I realized CE has a tempo for each wave file (wierd). I'm thinkin' to myself: "Why would there even be a wave tempo, when there's a playback tempo (from the software using the wave file)?" Anyway, most of the tempos are off a little and some of the tracks are "off" in terms of timing.

Is there anyway to fix this short of re-recording? This has got to be one of the most bizarre situations, I've experienced so far and very frustrating.

Oh what are the alternative software recording products out there with comparable features, especially in the digital processing department? Effects, compression and limiting are an absolute must. Thanks in advance for any helpful replies.

Have you tried doing a right-click, click Loop properties, and select the first option (I think it is "simple looping", instead of selecting the tempo or time length options.) I did this last night while messing around some drum loops I created. Seems to work fine.
