The whole mix seemed too hot to me. Maybe it is just on my end.

Anyway, sounds like you did have fun. What is your git and chain?

Theron.

I remember that Sliver Guitar.
You made it didn't you?
Your Grandmother was holding it.
Funny, I was thinking about that guitar the other day. Couldn't remember who made it.

Wow Jeffrey, you do quite well on that banjo! Nice wailin' there.
I listened to Current Project also. Very cool. I like the rhythm breaks, like where the congas come up a bit and where the sticks come in. It's a moody piece, nicely done.
Good job, and don't ever sell that banjo.

hey thanks mkg

Dont worry I dont sell senimental goodies I had to even make PJ's for her .. shes a size 1 1/2 the pj's are snug around the body but loose around her neck

mix...

What is rest? To me music isnt a choice... It seems that Im breathing it lately. Its seems strange.. I listened to that Police song I did .. (the first take on the song where the snare was loud) and I was like ... WOW I cant believe I didnt notice that....with only a few months of mixing practice you can get unbelievably better if your heart is willing to work with you. I cant stess that enough to people .... (THE MORE YOU PRACTICE.. THE BETTER YOU GET AT ANYTHING) No shortcuts out there All great musicians do homework

ps thanks for the advise on my mixes mix!

I must agree.

I havn't any formal training in audio engineering minus a one year stint as a production assistant at a radio station.

Since I've checked this site out on a regula basis, my personal mixes have improved ten fold. I don't post but 1/5 of the stuff I work on and I alway get solid feedback.

It just struck me the other day that my mixes have been improved by the continuous help of this forum. I've also noticed that I can actually make a worthwhile comment from time to time.

In short, the forum has helped my ear alot and I think might be able to give back a little because of the help I've recieved........................

Maybe not, but the help I've recieved is beyond question.

peace,

Theron.

oh for sure....that is why this place is so interesting. You don't have to be the one that provides the music to get a lot out of it. As I mentioned somewhere earlier, it's interesting to listen to something, and read about what others hear and perceive of it. I know what I think about stuff, obviously... but the most interesting stuff to me is what others say about the same subject/song.... did that make sense?

oh well, it does to me....

Marcomb,

Good job on the guitar. The tone is killing me though. I would love to see you get something like a pod, J-station, or something that sounds nice direct and try it again. The guitar is waaaayyyy squashed. But I like the playing.

I love the guitar style. Extemely well played. Like the song.

I the tone on the lead was a little harsh, but it didn't bother me as much as it seemd to have bother some others. Am I the only one that heard the clicking on one side? It didn't sound like clipping, but I couldn't figure out what it was. Also at :44 there were two notes played on another guit. So I wasn't sure what that was about.

Just little things. Great playing.

Hey thanks for listening guys!!

Ok ... I guess its time to go out this week and buy a POD. Ive been stuggling to get a good sound out of this pedalboard for way too long.

If anybody else has some suggestions on a great sounding guitar direct box let me know.

Great jam J.....
I like the solo....great playing. The only gripe that i think i would have would be the acoustic r. guit. ....It sounds wayyy bright and hot on these crappy comp. speakers. Otherwise, cool bluesy jam. Mike

I asked about the POD here and lotsa folks mentioned the Behringer V-amp. S'posed to kick the pod's ass...and cheaper too. I don't know...I bought a POD!

BTW. Nice tune. I really dug "Surfin..". I think you get a very nice Satch sound with what you've got.
