KorgM1 Cakewalk9 midi hell

Recently i am unable to do sysx dumps from the cakewalk sysx libriran to the m1. I can play midi files on the m1 and cakewalk will receive sysx dumps from the m1. I've reconnected all the cords reinstalled driver for opcode midi translator and made certain the midi ports all match up,,,,,but still no luck any ideas?
thanks

It's been awhile since I messed with an M1 but let's start with the obvious.

On the M1 in Global, is Sysex receive turned on? I believe the M1 global channel is what it looks to receive on, is that the channel your are sending on?

Do you need to erase the onboard sequencer first? I can't remember. Like I said it's been a few years.

There are also protection settings in Global for the Programs, Combi's and Seq. Make sure protection is turned off on all of those.

Wink thanks

the problem is solved but it wasn't anything to do with the M1.
All those settings were fine. But cakewalk seems to requiire that the output ports for midi translator be on top of the list under options/midi devices.
thanks again.
