anyone know of a good mono miking method for acoustic guitar?? I have a wonderful stereo method worked out, but sometimes i don't have the need (or tracks) for stereo...one configuration that works is a mic right over the shoulder, so its essentially the same as what you hear....however, if you have headphones on (when don't I??) it picks up whats coming through the headphones rather nicely....(grrr...)

thanks for your help

I have had good results with the Mike about 6" away from the 12th fret. I have used a SM58 and a RODE Condenser and they both work well. The condenser sounds fuller and more present. I also run it through a little compression to smooth out the level.
