I am planning on using a MackieVLZ-PRO to take advantage of it preamps. I will be using it to preamp two inputs at a time, and then route it to the Layla.

Has anyone done this before? Does anyone have suggestions as to what kind of cabling I should be using between the Mackie and the Layla?

Any problems with this method?

Any input would be great!

This is straight cabling stuff, nothing complicated, although we had a guy here a week or two ago that didn't know you could use channel inserts to do all 8 at once, so...

really? how, pray tell, do you do that?

you would still be limited to two outputs, correct?

maybe I'm just confused? I haven't recieved my mixer yet, and haven't played with it.

i AM excited though!

I got a brand new one at eBay for $350. Is that as good of a deal as I think it is?

Cool

Hey, when I say 8 at once, I mean 8 at once! Learn to use the search, dear friend Conrad, and you too can come up with results like this in 10 seconds:

...and you don't have to have one to go to the Mackie site and get all the photos, tips, and manual:

Reco, there's newbies and then there's "cut off from all society"

This is the Internet. When in doubt about anything, type its name into your browser and follow it by .com, or look it up on Altavista (er, perhaps I should be more specific: http://www.altavista.com.

So try http://ebay.com
