CD DJ's - what type of unit?
Hey all,
I'm interested in getting into DJ'ing (for parties, etc, not battle). I was wondering what's the pro's and con's of having an 'all-in-one' CD unit like the Numark CDN25 versus having seperate decks, like the Numark Fusion FCDJ package (or similar). Also, on a similar tip, anyone DJ using MP3's and a computer? Thanks, Bill |

Ah well, it doesn't matter. I've been convinced to go all digital.

It is very hard being a up and coming D.J. There are a million and one, already out that you have to compete with.
If I was going to get into CD-D.J'ing the decks I would buy are sold seperatly and the cost about a grand a piece |

Yeah, I saw those at the local music shop and played around on them. They are sick! If I had the means, I would pick up two.
Actually, I met someone who is a pro DJ, and he is going to take me on as an apprentice, so I can learn more about it before I plunk down around $2K on equipment. Thanks, Bill |

Yeah, it makes sense...even though I really want to run out and buy a bunch of stuff!
I thought more about it, and I would go with the seperate CD decks, like Axis-2's or PSX's, when I do buy something. Maybe use the computer as like an extra or for those 1-track wonders. On day, though the Pioneers will be mine! And congrats SPIN!! Later, Billabong |
