Thumbs up Off to the Martin Guitar factory!

I'm finally going...

My family and I are visiting Gettysburg soon and a stop on the way home is to the Martin guitar factory in Nazareth, PA. I've been wanting to do this all my life... My wife will have to duct tape my credit card to the sole of my shoe or something.

Anybody ever worked with western red cedar topwood? It's an aroma you never forget - like a luthier's version of fresh homemade bread....

I'm gettin' jazzed...

I live in pennsylvania and a cable access channel did a tour of the martin factory recently. i was delighted to see that almost every employee sported a full, luxurious heavy metal hair-do.

At the end of the tour, they had a grizzled gentleman play an old martin that david grisman recorded with (in some doc watson collaboration) that was brought in for repair.

what i suggest you do is enter the factory wearing a giant, guitar-sized hat, and smuggle a fine selection with a little misdirection. There must be tens of historically excellent instruments located within the factory.

Think I can smuggle a D-28 out under my shirt?

"What, Officer? Oh, it's just a brace for my back. Whiplash, you know."
