Angry Midi help: Yamaha CS1x & Logic Fun

Hi,

I recently bought the Yamaha CS1X for a bargain and know I want to use it with the Logic Fun sequencer.
Unfortunately, I'm a complete newbie when it comes to midi. I have been trying the whole week to make the damn (sorry) thing work, but failed so far.
The problem is, whatever sound I play, I always here the GM sounds of my sequencer instead of my synth sounds. This is also the case when I record and playback the sound. If I for example play and record '105 Jupiter' sound on the CS1X, then I will hear '104 Sitar' despite I selected 'Yamaha CS1X (XG)' in Record Options (standard is 'Bank Message: Control 32'). I also selected 'Preset (or User) Performances'.
I choose 'A: SB Live! Midi Synth' or 'B: SB Live! Midi Synth' (what's the difference ?) for recording. When I playback it, I hear the GM sound. So I select SB Live! Midi Out (CC00) for playback, but then I hear nothing at all, alltough the display indicates something is playing.
I then tried Cubasis AV, but the same thing happened: when playing, recording or playback I hear that GM sound and when I select SB Live! Midi Out for playback I hear nothing.
I also noticed that when I turn on my PC but don't startup the sequencer, I hear nothing if I play something although 'Midi' is selected in Suround Mixer of SB Live! Is this normal ?
So how do I get the user and preset performances of the CS1X in my sequencer ?
Are my SB Live!/Windows/Logic Fun settings incorrect ?
Should I copy some files and/or configure my soundbanks in Windows ?
Or should I adjust my CS1X settings ?

I have:
- AMD Duron 800Mhz
- 256 Mb SDRAM
- SB Live! ('full' version, not SB Live! Value)
- Windows ME

Any help would be most appreciated !

Thanks in advance,

Bauhaus.

You need to hook up the midi out to the yamaha. Select SB midi out as you have done but remember the sound will be coming from the Yamaha. You need to hook up the audio outs of the yamaha if you want to hear anything.
