Question Scratch Track Audio Line Source

I am recording a Scratch Track of our church band via our Mackie SR 32-4 into a SoundBlaster Extigy feeding Sonar 2.0XL.

What is the best source on the board for a super clean out of the entire Main Mix?

Also, I want to simultaneously send the Sonar Click to the drummer's monitor. Is this possible and not have it feedback into the Main Mix being recorded?

Thanks.

I assume you have the main outs feeding a PA system.
What you need to do is to assign all the channels to the main L-R mix AND to subgroups 1&2, just make sure that the subs are NOT assigned to the main L-R outs. Connect the sub 1&2 outs to the inputs of the soundcard.
To let the drummer hear the click you will need to connect the output of the soundcard to one of the stereo channels DO NOT assign that channel to the mains or subs and you can leave the fader down, just send the click to the drummer from a pre fader auxillary send (either 1 or 2, or 3 or 4 with the 'pre' switch depressed).

Good Luck.

I was hoping not to make wholesale changes to the connections to the board, as it is used for live church services 4 days a week.

Can I take Main Out to the sound card, and then send the line out of the Sound Card to an open channel and, keeping the fader all the way down, send just monitor level to the Drummer? Since the fader is down, would that not preclude any looping?

Am I being too simplistic?

Thanks.
