Check out my HelmDiffSorber plans
I am trying to combine lots of different theories gleaned from this list in designing my corner bass traps. They have a Helmholtz component with the varying vertical slat gaps. They have diffusion in that the slats are radiating from a quarter circle, to spread sound out into the room in pseudo-random radius. Lastly, they have 703 lining to absorb the mostly bass frequencies that will permeate the slat gaps.
What do y'all think? Am I creating a Frankenstein beast that won't solve any of my issues? As background, I am trying to tame a medium size (14' X 22' X12') room with hard stucco walls. I figure burlap wrapped 703 panels will get the highs under control, but I wanted some bass traps as well while ensuring the room is still lively. Cheers,

cool Todzilla - I designed a similar unit for sjoko except that I turned the slats around with 6 x 2s down to 2 x 2s and the 2" surface facing and up to a 6" depth. In fact you could use 1" plywood with the 1" surface facing.
