v69 v. NTK
I am looking to get a tube mic. It appears to me that the Rode NTK and Marshal v69 present the best values. I will be recording mostly vocals (my own, I am a tenor) and acoustic guitar. Any opinions out there? Price wise the v69 of course, is cheaper.... The Rode you have to add $80 for the shock mount....

Actually, expect to pay an extra $40 dollars for the NTK shockmount from bpmmusic. I love my NTK but since I don't own a v67, I really can't compare the two.

Definately check out the Studio Projects TB-1($299).I haven't any experience with other tube mics but the TB-1 is killer!

Here's another vote for the NTK.
I haven't tried the v69 or the TB-1, but all I know is that the NTK is the sweetest mic I ever heard... and that includes a side-by-side comparison to the Neumann TLM-103!!! |
