Question can someone please help me out?

wuzzup ya'll.....as ya'll can see i'm new to the boared and i'm glad to be here....

i have a question....i have a 4 track tascam porta 02mk11 (cassette) and for some reason i get this mic feed back everytime a try to record my vocals and on top of that the vocal recording is very low which makes me have to go to another track and double the vocals just so you can hear what i'm sayin on the mic...i tryed pluging the mics in differant ports but nothing works, i'm using a ATR55 audio-technca telemike...i've tryed different mics but i still the same outcome so i guess what i'm saying is..

1)do i need to get a better mic or a amp for the mic?
2)or do i just have a cheap track recorder and need to upgrade to something else?

and does anybody know if theres a track recored thats just the track recorder (nothing else) thats for your PC?

well thank you guys for helping me out (i hope lol) i'm out holla

For starters.........

You might want to wear headphones, when laying down your vox.

Also, list all of your equipment.

peace...

Arrow yeah

thats the thing..i do use the headphones so i'm having a hard time figuring where the static is coming from.

equipment:
tascam porta 02mk11
atr55 telemic
i run my beats from my music generator...i put the beat on track 4 and it records fine.

do you think that my mic may be to close to my set up and the feed back is coming from the equipment?

thanks 4 your help i really appreciate it

The feedback is probably because you are montitoring the live mic and the record head at the same time.

And yes, a better mic and recorder will sound much better.
