burning software

I don't know what other catagory to post this under but anyway does anyone know of any burning software that can burn music with a lower sample rate. I use nero and it only works with CD quality

Why would you want to do this?

As far as I know, audio CD's must meet Red Book standards in order to be playable on CD players. My guess is that Red Book standard is for 16 bits and 44.1 sample rate. So if you burned something at a lower sample rate, it wouldn't be playable.

Either
1)Burn them as data files (will only be playable on a PC)
2)Convert them to 44.1/16 .wav files and burn them as a Red-book Audio CD (will be playable on CD players)
