How to RECORD midi signal in Fruity Loops?

Hey there,

I have a tiny problem using Fruity Loops.
I has plugged my Yamaha keyboard in computer via MIDI, and I do play that using Fruity Loops generators, as well I do trig the samples such as drum and bass sounds.
But I do not want to play, I want ro RECORD.
I would like to RECORD the MIDI signal and not the note itself.

That's the steps I follow:

1) I choose the song mode, instead pattern mode
2) I switch the record mode
3) I click the play button and start recording

But, instead the FL record the MIDI signals triggered by my keyboard, it records the note. Then, in the step sequencer the "beats" disappears and are substituted by a graphic; and when I click onto that, a window with a piano roll pops up.

I don't want to record the sounds, I want to record the midi triggered signals!!! Is this possible in Fruity Loops???

Thanks!!!

I've never heard of Fruity Loops being used as a MIDI sequencer. I do not believe it has that capability, but I could be wrong.

you can record it, but it isn't very handy (and monophone!), and I don't use that function: I'm much more comfortable just drawing my rythms.

If you just want to sequence your midi signals, you must need an ordinary sequencer like Cubase, Cakewalk, or whatever...
