What monitors to buy
I already have an amp so the guy at guitar central told me to go ahead and get the passive monitors since I was looking to save some money, but there are so many. They were pushing the KRK Rokit nonitors, but My brother and friends are pushing the Event 2020s and the Tannoys. Please help

Thanks for replying, what exactly makes the 2020s better than the others, mainly the Tannoys.
For the record, I already had a bad feeling about the KRKs |

I have heard very good things about this monitor.
It gives you a much clearer stereo field then most other monitors in it's class. A lot of people have said that it's probably the best in it's price range. The only draw back is that it doesn't carry bass very well. JBL LSR25 Monitor Please look at my auctions also, you might find some thing you like!!! ![]() |

if bass is "extremely important", you want the 20/20's....

I worked on a pair of 20/20's this past weekend and I can confirm the healthy bass. It was quite surprising actually.

Yo STONE:
Take a look at the Yorkville passive monitors; very reasonable; about 90 pezzutos each, plus shipping. Good sound. Good Bass. Nice highs. You can spend more and get more probably. But, what are your needs? I've been using the Yorkvilles for 2 years and they are great. I'm mixing from a Yamaha 2816 and the Yorkies do a good job. It really depends on your wallet and ears; but, if you do the search here you will find many good words about Yorkville monitors. The new Yorkies amped cost more and I do not know how good they are. Cheers, Green Hornet ![]() |

yorkvilles,
That's the ticket. Of course, if you got the $$$ then get something more expensive. I really like the yorks, been using'em for 2 years. Improved my recording results 200%. dtb |

Thanks guys
I'm just bought the Digi001 so I'm holding off on a new motherboard, but I can't do without monitors now. I can afford to spend about $300 which is the range of the 2020s and the Tannoy Reveals. I'm doing anything from Hip-hop to Afro-Cuban live percussions so I need something versatile that can handle bass.

I went to Guitar Center and listen to the 20/20 against some similiar priced stuff like the kRK 4000. The 20/20 were impressive. But what the salesman said made sense. Take em home and listen in YOUR studio. GC, Ash and many others have a 30 day policy. If you don't like them, bting em back!!
