The masterlink is a mixdown machine, not a mastering unit (despite the name)....
I use it all the time -- it is EXCELLENT....... Bruce |

masterlink and mastering
I LOVE this unit, and feel that it can be used very well as a mastering unit, if you know what you're doing. For the record, I think it's easier to play a basic bass part then master this device.
I've had it nearly a year now, and through much trial and error, have learned to "play" this thing, like a musical instrument, to get a sound that sounds like a commercial CD release. Be warned, the owner's manual tells you as much about mastering as a guitar's owner's manual tells about playing the guirtar. With patience, this thing IS unbelievable.

It has compression EQ and normalizing features....looks like you could do some basic mastering work with it.

Thanks all. I bought one today. I figured it is at least better for burning than my crappy Phillips CD burner that burnes at about 10 db. too low! I think I can at least get a little bit more of a
"commercial" sound than before.. |
