Question monitoring....

I have Cubasis for hte Tascam 428, and i've had some real problems with monitoring correctly. Sometimes i can hear what's coming through live, sometimes i can't. and i can't seem to boost the recorded tracks enough so that the overdubber can hear them, the live track is to powerful and i cant turn it down w/o losing gain for the recorded, finished product.

is there a way to control what you are monitoring and what you are not?

help!

chris

In the Cubasis mixer, try muting the tracks that you are recording. Hit mute after you have set levels because you won't be able to see the levels once they are muted. They'll still record, they joust won't be heard in the cans.

If that doesn't work, let us know. There are a few other tricks that you can use, but they are more complex and I'm not on my Cubase machine at the moment.

Good luck!
Chris
