Monitering with Home stereo speakers and an amp?

Currently my computer speakers i use for everything, including monitering and mastering, are the Klipsch 4.1 multipmedia speakers, i know they're basically the worst speakers you can use for monitering, and im feelin it really bad. I do have a pair of Paradigm Bookshelf speakers hooked up to a home stereo amplifyer, and a cd player. If i pluged my computer into the amp, and then monitered with the paradigm bookshelfs would they be much better than the klipschs im using?

ok

so would i notice much of a difference between them and the 4.1 set of klipsch speakers? Its 4 satalites and a sub, so the horns totally exadurate the highs, and the sub has incredibly loud bass and exadurates that, so stuff sounds great, just impossible to master shit.

"oh, and the bookshelfs, might be behind me while im editing, will that fuck stuff up a lot? i can always turn around when listening can't i?

Yeah, you can turn around while listening. Although make very sure both speakers are on the same level, and the tweeters really ought to be level with your ears.

And the correct spelling is 'exaggerates'.

Actually, it's a spelling BEE. As in a social gathering where people combine work, amusement, and competition.

Twist

Hey ambi, i use my stereo speakers and reciever too, eq flat of course, i had the same problem with my computer's speakers, two tweeters and a sub. The bass is always huge and the highs harsh, but my stereo speakers ended up working really well, i actually recorded a paying band on them with really great results, though they're big and brown so it was kinda embarresing .

I use an old stereo I inherited from my daughter, works pretty well.
Tough to come up with the bucks for monitors, always money to be spent better elsewhere!

Best to you,
Pete
