Question to Zoom MRS-1044 users

I am debating between this unit and the Boss BR-1180. I primarily need to record acoustic sources (guitar) but I've read in various reviews that people experienced distortion with clean signals and had problems getting a good acoustic/clean tone.

Have you experienced this as well?
