Grace 101 Users Here?

This preamp keeps coming up in discussions. Do any of you use/own one, or have any hands on experience with this unit? Its sounds like a pretty nice pre, but it makes all the difference when I hear those real world testimonials.

If so, how do you like it and how does it compare with what you were using before?

I've got one..I like it alot..My other outboard pres are a Digitech VMP1,Event EMP1,Art Pro MPA..The Grace is the "clearest"/"quietest" out of the lot{works well with a ribbon and I have the standard model}.I like it for vox the most and acoust guit. finger pickin'..The Event EMP1 is usally my first acoust guit.{strumming}..The Event is a real steal of the bunch{150.00 used}..Good luck.

Henri,

Tell me more about the Event. There is a used one just lying around in a local music store, which I've wondered about for some time. I take it that it is also a clean, clear--uncolored pre. Quiet? Enough gain? Thanks for the response on the Grace 101 as well.

The Event is clear, quiet and uncolored also pleanty of gain{I belive 60 db as is the Grace}..If you can check it out at that music store then give it a listen..It is not as transparent/clear{the reason for my choice on strummed guit...to tame a briter acoust.} as the Grace..but like I said for the "buck"{used its 1/4 the price of the Grace} its worth a listen.Good luck
