budget "channel strip"?

I can only affort around $400 for a single (or 2) "
channel strip(s)" (quoted since i don't really need EQ, and it could be combining different unilts for the purpose)

I now have a mackie 14 ch XDR

I usually take 1 - 2 channels for vocals or acoustic guitars with C1, NT1, SM57 or Sm58

but i sometimes want a little compression before recording to my gina24

I am looking at:
a. dbx 376 to utilize the digital in of gina24; or
b. joemeek MQ3 (maybe x2); or
c. stick to my mackie (fine indeed for its clean tone) and add 1-2 RNC; or
d. any other suggestion(s)

Thanks for any advice

I have 2 DBX (286) channel strips listed in the buy and sell section.

Would make you a great deal on both, well with in your budget. These are as new in box. Mic Pre/comp/de-esser/eq.
Send me mail at: JRE_Productions@yahoo.com

Thanks,

Big Joe
