Play Through

In order to record or hear instruments with Cubase VST 5.1 for Mac, every time I start the program I have to go through the same annoying routine.

Go to the Options menu.... pull down Audio Setup ->System.... Click the LAUNCH button where it says ASIO Device Control Panel.... then select the checkbox that says PLAY THROUGH.... close all those windows.... finally I can hear the live instrument.

When I quit out of Cubase, even with the program shut down, I can still hear the live instrument.
But as soon as I restart Cubase again... click... the sound goes off, and I have to go through the above routine again.

Is this a glitch with the Mac system, a Sound control panel problem or is this normal with all versions of Cubase?

ie, does everybody have to keep going back to the Audio Setup control panel and click the Play Through feature every time they use Cubase?
