Question Alesis S4 Modual

I seem to have lost the use of my s4 sounds banks. When using it in cakewalk, all I get are the general midi sounds on chanel one and can not record or play from any other midi channel. Is there a way to reset it to factory condition?

Angry tried 1 and 4

it seems that 1 & 4 has no effect so it has the factory settings in place. Could I be stuck in edit mode? and if so, how do I get out? I can play what ever sound the module shows through my controller...but as stated before, it does not accept patch changes from cakewalk as though the midi channels past channel 1 are not turned on.

Now what?

Thank for the help Paul!

Smile

To get your S4 to work in a multi channel mode your S4 should be set to mix mode. There you can set up the programs to resond to different midi channels. This is explained in the manual. You should be able to download one at the Alesis web site.
Alesis.com . If they do not have a S4 manual then a Quadrasynth should work fine also. As for program changes page 5 of the global edit mode lets you select whether program changes are on or off.
