Musicians Advocate revisited

Given the recent (bad) experiences related by customers of Musicians Advocate, I thought I'd share mine.

I won an ART TPS two-channel preamp on eBay from Musicians Advocate. I received the unit via UPS. I didn't plug it in for about a week. When I finally tested it, channel two didn't work.

I emailed Brad at Musicians Friend and he sent UPS back to my house, on his nickel, to pick up the defective unit. Yesterday I received the replacement, and it works fine.

It was a very convenient way of returning something, and I thought you might be interested to hear it. And no, I have no connection to the company or to Brad!

The experiences I have had with the Advocate have always been positive. Chessrock is convinced they're the devil, and then Brad got on the forum here and overreacted. All that notwithstanding, I think they're a good little outfit.

Come now. I never implied that they were bad people, or that they were "evil" in any way. That's not the issue.

The lights are definitely on over there, mind you, but I just get the feeling that no one is home. But it doesn't make them bad people. So let's not make fun of them anymore, okay?
